On Thursday I went to pick up Fiona early at about 2:15pm, but the road down to her preschool was blocked off by the police. The children apparently were safe inside the preschool. The police was not allowing anyone (including people who lived down the area or the parents wanting to pick up their children from the preschool)! This went on for a good 30 minutes. At first I felt relatively calm, but as the minutes went by, I got more and more stressed. Anyhow, by 3pm a few of us parents went down the tire store and took a back route to the preschool and got our kids out. The teachers at the preschool were calm, as were the police. The kids were all okay and unaware that anything was wrong.
The next day we found out that the area was blocked until 6:30 pm and that there was a murder-suicide two or three houses away from the preschool! It was a 40 yr. old ambulance driver and his 60 something yr. old mom. That's about all we know but SCARY!!! Baulkham Hills is a sleepy suburb but I don't know what's going on with all these strange and violent scenarios!!
