We went to Parramatta with Tony and Egidia for a night out, seeing that Egidia is turning 34 on the 4th and me turning 40 on the 5th. In most company, I am now the oldest!! I don't think I like that too much but hey c'est la vie, what can you do??!!
After a bottle of champers at the di Mauros, we ended up at a modern Lebanese restaurant on Church Street in Parramatta. Luckily Nonna and Auntie Samantha babysat for us. We gorged on dips (Labne, houmous and baba ganouje), salads (cauliflower, tabouli, rocket and salad plate), seafood (oysters, squid and prawns), and a HUGE platter of grilled meats (sausage, chicken, lamb, minced lamb). The MOST unusual dish was the finely minced raw lamb with mint and spices. Not sure how I felt about that one! There was enough food to feed an army!!
Not surprisingly, we got a call at about 10pm, the youngest one, Adam, was vomiting. Wouldn't you know it, you finally get a night out and the parents are all back in the house cuddling a child each! Nonetheless it was a fun night!
