Mollymook and Milton

On our way up to Kiama and Jamberoo, we stopped at Mollymook.  Looked like a great family beach!

We also stopped at Milton looking for lunch.  No luck at the very popular Vegetarian burger joint so we ended up having Thai/Chinese at the renovated pub.  It was okay, weird, but okay!

Narooma

Okay, We're back in business!!!  I will try to recall our trip from mid-December.  It seems like such a long long time ago now!

This is Fergus and Fiona enjoying a nice cuppa in Mogo (aka Mojo!).  It's about 20 minutes southwest of Bateman's Bay; a quaint little town.

We arrived in Narooma a few hours later.   Narooma is derived from an Aboriginal word meaning Land of Many Waters.  It was beautiful and we enjoyed a splendid weekend there!!

Narooma Surf Beach -

Glasshouse Rock -

Australia Hole -

We were spoiled at the Bateman's Bay Big 4 park with the cabins being so new.  We had a much older cabin in Narooma but the views were awesome!!

Feerless Lorikeets

Forsters Bay - We had brunch at Quarterdeck Marina.  What a view!!  The food was great and the place was very relaxing.

We walked from Narooma to Bar Beach - across the bridge and along the boardwalk.

Bar Beach -

Tilba Tilba and Central Tilba - beautiful quaint area inland from Narooma, with lots of wee shops run by old very grumpy people.  It was beautiful but disappointing in that aspect.

Camel Rock

Poor wee dead penguin, probably from Montague Island!

Bermagui approx. 30 km south of Narooma - Blue Rock Pool by the sea

Bateman's Bay

We had a very difficult time deciding where to spend our last holiday.  There was talk of Fiji, New Zealand, Perth/Broome, and even Adelaide about 10 ten days before we were to leave.   Finally we decided on the South Coast as it was less expensive, closer to Sydney and hopefully less stress.

Our first stop was to Bateman's Bay - a four hour drive from Sydney down the South Coast.  Bateman's Bay is popular with both Canberrans and Sydneysiders.  We spent four night at the Bateman's Bay Big4 Beach Resort.  We got a great deal for the spanking new two bedroom cabin as it was still 'low-season'.  It would have tripled in cost if we were travelling during the school holidays!!  Our cabin, named Wattle, was right by Joe's Creek.  It was very relaxing with the river, the wind, the trees, and the ducks.

As Bateman's Bay is less than two hours from Canberra, we had visitors.  Cousin Andy came by for two nights and Uncle Chris/Ping came by for an evening.  It was great to see them before we left!

It was great having Andy take us to the beaches around Batemans Bay.  The girls love their Uncle/Cousin Andy!  We all will miss him very much and hope to catch up with him soon maybe in Europe?!

Our first stop was to Malau Bay.

Hang loose dudes!

Tomakin Beach -  We stopped here for a good pie, a poke at the rockpools and we created a sand-kingdom.

Broulee Beach -  we had a quick stop here at the rock pools and watched many surfers ride the big waves.

Very very yummy fish and chips and fresh prawns from the Boatshed!

Cycling around the resort

Uncle Chris and Ping came to Bateman's for a visit.  They brought with them yummy fish and chips and the best oysters I've ever had!  We had a nice relaxing visit despite the thunder and rain.  Uncle Chris has taken great care of us during our stay in Oz and we will miss his chilled out attitude on life!  Hope to see him soon in Canada or in HK for great grandad's 100th bday in three years time!
