Land of Roos, Wallabies, Koalas and Gum Trees!!!

This afternoon, we drove out to Featherdale Wildlife Park (20 minutes away) without a hitch after google mapping the directions.

We saw and touched our first Koalas, Wallabies, Kangaroos, Emus, and just about every single Australian animal/bird around.  It was very very cool!

Koalas are soooo cute and their fur is so thick and soft!
Kangaroos and Wallabies were alot smaller than I had anticipated.
An emu came from behind me and pecked at my rear which was exciting!
We also saw a Kookaburra and another bird thrash and swallow a new born (of some other species) which took the girls and us by surprise.

We also discovered the gum trees that our back porch overlooks.

We back directly onto Bidigal Reserve.  Around the corner from us is a wee park that also overlooks the reserve.  Gum trees EVERYWHERE.  They are quite beautiful and when the wind blows, you can hear their whistling leaves from miles away.

Hey there...give it another try? I'm learning about uploading photos onto the blog. Have been spending lots of hours on it...hoping the process speeds up as it's taking much too long. Laptop is also slower than the imac ;-(

We had rain last night....took an hour for the puddles to dry up though.
