Partied Out....

Woaaa - what a weekend of parties!!  We are POOPED!

Friday evening, Karen went out to The Winston for the "1 Year Down, 6 More to Go" drinks with about 20 Year 1 Moms from Margot's school.  It was fun but Karen had a little too much to drink which makes the rest of the weekend a wee bit difficult but it was a great time nonetheless.  It also started thundering and lightening and the roof of the lounge leaked throughout the evening.  We all got a bit wet!

Early Saturday afternoon, Margot went to Tara's pool party and then later in the afternoon we all went to Sammy's 3rd birthday party (our neighbour) at the Wiggles Centre.  It was loud but the kids had a great time!  By the way, an extra bit of tidbit gossip, an ex-Wiggles is also a Dad of a Year 5 child at Margot's school.  I think he was the yellow guy!

Today, we went to an authentic Aussie BBQ with the Oakhill's Science Department.  It was held at the Science department head's house (Damian Sylvester) and in total here were about 18 kids and 18 adults.  There was a pool which provided hours of entertainment for the kids.  Margot and Fiona got on fantastic with the girls at the house (Alana - 7, Madelline - 4).  We were there for about 5 hours!!  It was relaxing and easy.  There was an egghunt for the kids at the end which gave the kids a major sugar high... just in time for the parents to take the kiddies home!

Speaking of Easter and chocolates, Australia takes the easter chocolates to another level.  The stores are beyond FULLY stocked with chocolates - nothing like I've ever seen.   Aisles and aisles of the stuff.  I wouldn't want to be a teacher after Easter weekend!

Socializing appears to be alot easier here in Australia.  It must have something to do with the weather.  Generally speaking, people are much more easy going; they all seem to have a no worries attitude which is a refreshing  change from our cold, crazy hectic life back in Vancouver.  I guess it's easier to have 36 people in your backyard on any given weekend instead of in your living room!
