Girl's Wkend at the Hunter Valley Wine Region of NSW......

I had a fabulous weekend away with nine other Moms from Margot's class at Our Lady of Lourdes.  The girls left on Friday after drop-off in the morning and met up at Harrigan's Irish  pub in the hunter valley at 12:30pm.  We went there in three car-loads (I rode up with Gabrielle and Terese) and the drive was about 2 hours.  Friday evening consisted of a massage and pizza/beers at the Potters Brewery where we were staying.  The girls all had an early night in preparation for our big wine tour day.  I shacked up with Vic who is the Mom of Katarina (yr. 1) and Nicolas (kindie).  Fergus plays football with her husband Mario.  Considering that I had the worst cold I've had in years, it was a BRILLLIANT weekend!

Gabrielle, Terese, Wendy, Fiona, Sarah, Lisa, Kylie, Christine and Vic

On Saturday we toured the Hunter via the infamous Newcastle Tram with driver Lance, to 5 diffferent wineries.  The first one was great and informatve and they were all keen learners!  But after that first one and trying at least five or more different wines at each of the winery, it was drinking and chilling for the remainder of the day!   We stopped at the following five wineries:  Pepper Tree, McGuigans, Binbagen, Draytons and Golden Grape Schnapps (chilli flavoured schnapps!!).

The tasting experience was a hoot but I didn't drink anything that I LOVED.  The hunter is famous for its' Semillion but according to me the wine connoisseur not! - le vin a la Hunter
 est comme ci comme ca.

We had a beautiful lunch at Binbagen -  the three reds were paired with roasted duck, lamb and beef cheeks.  The food was gorgeous and the wine wasn't bad either!

Saturday night was spent dancing/singing Karaoke back at the Potter's Brewery.  It was a fun and crazy night.  Some of them Moms CAN drink! ;-)

The trip was so alot of fun!   Thanks girls!!
