Fundraisers.....

I went to a Trivia Night recently as a fundraiser for Fiona's preschool.
There were less than 100 people attending and in that one evening I think we raised over $2700.  Apparently Trivia Nights are popular here in Australia along with meat raffles!

It was a good night and I thought some of the activities were great and maybe we can do something like it back home for Nootka and Dorothy Lam.

  • 5 Rounds of trivia questions - themes were along the lines of culture, politics, sports, etc.
  • Pictures of cd covers were on the wall - we had to guess the artist and albums
  • Olympic event - design and create an event using the materials provided for at each table (playdough, paper, pipecleaners, pom pom balls, etc.)
  • Tag lines in popular Movies - guess the actor and film
  • Jingles - name the company
  • Name that Tune
  • Guess the number of jellybeans in a jar
  • Pop the balloon - tie a balloon at ankle and try to pop opponents balloon
  • Hit the bottle - throw and aim a dollar and two dollar coin at a wine bottle from 10 ft away
  • Silent auction on kid's artwork

Some ideas for next year!

Meat raffle is exactly what I would expect to be popular over there!!
