I've been taking a glass flame work beading class in Rozelle every Thursday night at the Sydney Community College; it goes for 8 weeks. I'm really enjoying it BUT its a major hassle getting there and back each week -- it's a major hassle but worth it nonetheless! I have to get to the city (by bus/train or foot/bus) and then another bus to get to Rozelle -- it's a minimum 90 minute journey. The class runs from 6:30 pm to 9 pm. I usually leave around 4:20pm and get home around 10:30pm! Crazy but fun!

Glass beads....
Margot and Karen -- day in the city ...
Margot had two days off this week from school; her teachers were off on pro-d days.
On Thursday Margot and I had a day in the city. Margot's cousin Hamish, who lives in Boston, is doing a school project on Flat Stanley. Hamish had sent us his version of Flat Stanley and has asked us to get some photos of Margot and Stanley.
We decided to take Stanley to the city with us. It was a great day! We strolled through the busy city centre, had cupcakes, went on the one hour Opera House tour, had ice-creams, had lunch by the harbour. On a scale from 1 to 10, Margot and I both rated it as a definite TEN!
On Friday, we went to Gabrielle's house and hung out there all day with three other Moms and six kids. Fun, fun, fun.
Delish cupcake and coffee for morning tea in the CBD.
What is Christmas without a graffiti clad paper mache tree or an orange/pink plastic tree???
Stan checking out some aboriginal art.
The Opera House is designed by Danish architect Jorn Utzon, who funny enough passed away yesterday at age 90 from a heart attack. He won the international bid for the project but did not ever set foot on the finished project; he was 1400% off on his project timelines and estimated dollars and ultimately forced to resign before the building was completed!
The building cost $102,000,000 au and over 16 years to build. The Sydney Opera House opened in 1973. There are 10 sails and over 900 rooms in the building. It's very simple (glass, granite, wood) and aesthetically beautiful.

Farm Stay Weekend......
Last weekend we went to a farm stay in a suburb of Port Stephens called Bob's Farm (about a 2 and a half hour drive from our house). We went up there with Vic, Mars, Kat and Nic and Dee, Adam, Ethan, and Flinn. It was a blast and a definite highlight of the year! We stayed at Kookaburra's Cottage. Scott and Louise are super nice and every day at 5pm, Scott took us around the farm to feed the animals, help him with jobs, etc. The weather could have been better though. We had one hot day and one super cold day!

The girls
Poor buggers!!
The sheep were first dewormed. Scott injected white medicine into their mouths via syringe. Then for the males that were still young, we had to castrate them but putting a rubber band around the scrotum. Eventually after about 2 weeks, without any blood circulation, the scrotum will fall off!
Poor boy limped away after the deed!
